Western blot protocol

Western Blot (WB) is a powerful technique which allows the user to determine the molecular weight of a protein target and to measure relative amounts of the protein target present in different samples. Western Blotting uses gel electrophoresis to separate native proteins by 3-D structure or denatured proteins by the length of the polypeptide. Western Blot uses three elements to accomplish this: 1. Separation by size, 2. Transfer to a solid support, and 3. Marking the target protein using an appropriate primary and secondary antibody to visualize it.

Fitzgerald Industries offers a wide range of Western Blot validated primary, secondary and conjugated antibodies, and reagents for use in industrial, research, education and diagnostic applications. Our Western Blot antibodies and reagents are the ideal choice for optimal detection of your target proteins.

Top Western Blot antibodies and proteins

Our current top western blot targets are:

Hepatitis C Virus NS3 protein

This protein can be used as a positive control for Hepatitis C in western blotting. Its is a recombinant HCV protein which is highly purified.

IL10 antibody (biotin)

This rabbit polyclonal IL10 antibody is biotinylated and so can be detected easily using streptavidin detection reagents. The antibody is specific for murine IL10 and can also be used in ELISA.

GAPDH antibody

Western blot analysis of homogenized cardiac tissue using GAPDH antibody

This customer reviewed GAPDH antibody is our top selling GAPDH antibody and can be used in ELISA, WB and ICC. It is an excellent antibody for determination of equal protein loading in Western blot.

Western blot analysis using GAPDH antibody (10R-G109a)

Treponema pallidum protein

This T. pallidum protein is a positive control for western blotting and ELISA when detecting TmpA in biological samples. It is >95% pure TmpA protein and was produced in E.coli expression system.
