|Biological Significance||CNN1, also known as calponin-1, belongs to the calponin family. CNN1 is thin filament-associated protein that is implicated in the regulation and modulation of smooth muscle contraction. It is capable of binding to actin, calmodulin, troponin C and tropomyosin. The interaction of calponin with actin inhibits the actomyosin Mg-ATPase activity. Recombinant human CNN1 protein, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography.|
