Immunohistochemical staining using Collagen Type V antibody (70R-CR015)

Anti collagen V antibody (1:200, 45 min RT) showed strong staining in FFPE sections of human lung (left) with strong staining within alveoli, vessels, and in connective tissue spaces; and placenta (right) with strong staining observed in stromal and connective tissue spaces and vessel walls. Slides were steamed in 0. 01 M sodium citrate buffer, pH 6. 0 at 99-100 deg C - 20 minutes for antigen retrieval.

Usage & Assay Information

Usage Recommendations ELISA: 1:20,000-1:100,000, IHC: 1:1,000-1:5,000, IP: 1:100, WB: 1:2,000-1:10,000
Bioactivity Some class specific anti-collagens may be specific for three-dimensional epitopes which may result in diminished reactivity with denatured collagen or formalin-fixed, paraffin embedded tissues

Storage & Safety

Storage Store at 4 deg C for short term storage. Aliquot and store at -20 deg C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

General Information

Biological Significance Collagen is a group of naturally occurring proteins found, in nature, exclusively in animals, especially in the flesh and connective tissues of mammals. It is the main component of connective tissue, and is the most abundant protein in mammals, making up about 25% to 35% of the whole-body protein content. Type-V collagen is a form of fibrillar collagen associated with classical Ehlers-Danlos syndrome.
