Usage & Assay Information

Usage Recommendations ENO3 protein (His tag) has been used in SDS-PAGE, and may be suitable for use in other applications, to be determined by the end user.
Bioactivity Specific activity: > 1.5 units/ml. One unit will convert 1.0 umole of 2-phosphoglycerate to phospho (enol) pyruvate per minute at pH 7.5 at 25C

Storage & Safety

Storage Can be stored at 4 deg C short term (1-2 weeks). For long term storage, aliquot and store at -20 deg C or -70 deg C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing cycles.

General Information

Biological Significance Beta-enolase, also known as ENO3, is one of the three enolase isoenzymes found in mammals. This isoenzyme, a homodimer, is found in skeletal muscle cells in the adult. ENO3 play a role in converting phosphoglyceric acid to phosphenolpyruvic acid in the glycolytic pathway. Mutations in its gene can be associated with metabolic myopathies that may result from decreased stability of the enzyme. Recombinant human ENO3 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
