|Biological Significance||FABP12 belongs to the calycin superfamily and fatty-acid binding protein family. The fatty-acid-binding proteins are a family of carrier proteins for fatty acids and other lipophilic substances such as eicosanoids and retinoids. These proteins are thought to facilitate the transfer of fatty acids between extra- and intracellular membranes. FABP12 may play a role in lipid transport. Recombinant human FABP12 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.|
