General Information
Biological Significance | Pterin-4-alpha-carbinolamine dehydratase precursor, also known as PCBD1, is a component of the phenylalanine hydroxylase (PAH) system and participates in tetrahydrobiopterin biosynthesis. A deficiency of this enzyme leads to hyperphenylalaninemia. The enzyme regulates the homodimerization of the transcription factor hepatocyte nuclear factor 1 (HNF1). Recombinant human PCBD1 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques. |
