Usage & Assay Information

Usage Recommendations PINK1 protein has been used in SDS-PAGE, and may be suitable for use in other applications, to be determined by the end user.

Storage & Safety

Storage Can be stored at 4 deg C short term (1-2 weeks). For long term storage, aliquot and store at -20 deg C or -70 deg C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing cycles.

General Information

Biological Significance PINK1 is a serine/threonine protein kinase that localizes to mitochondria. It is thought to protect cells from stress-induced mitochondrial dysfunction. Mutations in this protein cause one form of autosomal recessive early-onset Parkinson disease. Recombinant human PINK protein was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
