Images

Flow Cytometric assay using PIR antibody (10R-1386)

HeLa cells were fixed in 2% paraformaldehyde/PBS and then permeabilized in 90% methanol. Cells were stained with anti-PIR mAb (shaded) or isotype control (unshaded) followed by Alexa Fluor 488 conjugated goat anti-mouse IgG.

Usage & Assay Information

Usage Recommendations WB: 0.2-2 ug/ml, IP: 100-500 ug/sample, FC: 0.5-2 ug/sample

Storage & Safety

Storage Store at 2-8 deg C for up to one year. We recommend long term storage at -20 deg C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Biohazard Information This antibody solution contains sodium azide (NaN ) as a preservative. There is a potential hazard that NaN reacts with copper or lead to produce an explosive compound. For safe disposal, the vial has to be washed thoroughly with water. It is strongly adv

General Information

Biological Significance This gene encodes a member of the cupin superfamily. The encoded protein is an Fe(II)-containing nuclear protein expressed in all tissues of the body and concentrated within dot-like subnuclear structures. Interactions with nuclear factor I/CCAAT box transcription factor as well as B cell lymphoma 3-encoded oncoprotein suggest the encoded protein may act as a transcriptional cofactor and be involved in the regulation of DNA transcription and replication. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.
