Tau protein

Tau proteins are highly expressed in neurons of the central nervous system. They have a vital role in stabilizing tubular polymers known as microtubules. Tau proteins interact with tubulin in order to achieve this and also promote the assembly of tubulin into microtubules.

Defects in Tau protein expression or function can result in neurological diseases including dementias and Alzheimer’s. With instances of neurological diseases increasing worldwide, this has made Tau proteins a major research target in neuroscience and the development of new treatments in the pharmaceutical industry.

Fitzgerald Industries offers a range of Tau proteins and Tau isoforms for use in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry, Flow Cytometry and more.

Popular products include recombinant Tau protein (His tag) which is >85% pure and supplied in a Tris HCl buffer. Tau Blocking Peptide, useful for validating antibody specificity in IHC and Western blotting when used with this Tau antibody.
