Evans Blue

Evans Blue is an azo dye which has a very high affinity for serum albumin and is therefore extremely useful in fields such as physiology because it allows for the measurement of blood volume through the dilution of a standard solution of the dye in the plasma after its intravenous injection. It is also used as a vital stain for following diffusion through blood vessel walls and the movement of blood in the blood vessels.

The ability to rapidly determine blood volume safely and reliably is a vital tool for users in both the medical and pharmaceutical industries. Evans Blue is also a widely used stain for use in microscopy, Immunohistochemistry, Immunofluorescence and to study muscle pathology or injury, including exercise‐induced muscle damage and more. Fitzgerald Industries offers Evans Blue diluent in convenient ready-to-use format.

Our Evans Blue diluent is a glycerol-based mounting medium formulated to maintain the optimum conditions necessary for obtaining the maximum fluorescence emission from Fluorescein. As an added compnent, a novel non-fading formula has been employed to maintain the maximized fluorescence emission over time.
