Surfactants

Surfactants are compounds which lower the surface tension between two liquids or between a liquid and a solid. They are a vital tool in the biochemistry laboratory. Surfactants may act as detergents, wetting agents, emulsifiers, foaming agents, and dispersants.

One of the main applications of surfactants is the reduction of foaming during laboratory procedures.

Fitzgerald Industries offers a range of surfactants including a Surfactant and Polymer Tool Kit for use in the development of immunoassays.
