TMB or 3,3’,5,5’-Tetramethylbenzidine is a chromogenic substrate used in staining procedures in immunohistochemistry as well as being a visualising reagent used in ELISA.
TMB is a substrate for horseradish peroxidase, in the presence of HRP it develops a permanent, insoluble, dark blue reaction product. This is extremely useful for visualizing the presence of HRP in samples in a variety of assays.
TMB is the most popular chromogenic substrate for HRP detection in ELISA and is available in several formats. Fitzgerald Industries offers a variety of TMB substrates depending on your needs including TMB Peroxidase Substrate, TMB ELISA Substrate, TMB for Histochemistry and TMB Weakener for the dilution of TMB Substrate in immunoassays.
